Things To Do in and around Hay Cove
Hay Cove is at the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. Easier to find by looking up L'Anse aux Meadows. It's a very small community set in small cove off the Strait of Belle Isle, where icebergs and whales cross paths within view of our property. Besides the obvious attraction of it being home to the Vikings, L'Anse aux Meadows (and Hay Cove in particular) is truly a magical place and every season is special in its own way. Below are some suggestions. But always best to explore beyond
01
L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site & The Norstead Viking Village
These are two different sites, 2 kms apart from one another, and both worth checking out. The National Historic Site (The UNESCO World Heritage Viking Site) is run by Parcs Canada and the Norstead Viking Village is a replica of a Viking Port of Trade and also houses a replica of the Snorri (a Viking ship). Google each to find out more. Hay Cove is very close to each.
